Our unified message to Council is this:
Our current leaders have taken action to move the N. Coast Hwy 101 Streetscape forward in 2018. Their efforts are meaningful and appreciated.
The community is here to show support for Council to direct staff to return with a timeline, budget and request for proposal in early Jan. of 2019 to address the conditions leading to Roberta's collision.
We do not support interim measures that will not accomplish the Streetscape project as designed with a single travel lane and roundabouts as intersection controls.
We are calling on North County Transit District to finalize the agreement necessary to issue the Coastal Development Permit unanimously approved by California Coastal Commission on October 11th.

Dear Council and City Staff,
I am alarmed and concerned about the recent collision on N Coast Hwy 101 that resulted in Roberta Walker's tragic injuries. The injuries she sustains would not be life-threatening if the N. Coast Hwy 101 Streetscape was in place. {INSERT YOUR OWN PERSPECTIVE AS A COMMUNITY MEMBER HERE} I believe that Encinitas City Staff and our Council Members understand this and are working hard to ensure a life-altering collision never take place again on N. Coast Highway 101.
On October 11, 2018 the California Coastal Commission granted unanimous approval for the N. Coast Hwy 101 Streetscape Project. I understand the issuance of the final permit requires North County Transit District to finalize an agreement for the use of their right-of-way. We are calling on NCTD to have this agreement in place with our City by the end of February 1st, 2019.
Interim measures and enforcement have failed to prevent alarming injury to our community members. We have a plan with over ten years of rigorous vetting and it's ready for construction. Interim measures or alternatives to this plan take us further from accomplishing the Streetscape Project we as a community devised, detailed and decided upon time and again. {INSERT YOUR CLOSING THOUGHTS HERE]
Sincerely,
{INSERT YOUR NAME HERE}
